What is the difference between West Africa Shea Butter than Nilotica Shea Butter?
Nilotica Shea is a premium Certified Organic Shea butter made from the fruit of the Vitellaria Nilotica (sub species of the Karite tree), which grows across Northern Uganda. It is a lot more rare than West Africa Shea butter.
Nilotica shea butter is a lot softer in texture with a very mild aroma and a light yellow color. Nilotica Shea butter has a much higher content of olein, a glyceride of oleic acid, making it softer and creamier than its West African Shea Butter counterpart. It is high in unsaponifiables, antioxidants and cinneamic acid (a natural sunscreen). Readily absorbed into the skin and hair, it will delight you with its buttery smoothness!
If you do not like the strong nutty aroma of West Africa Shea, you should give this a try!
Our Nilotica Shea Butter meet both USDA and European standards for organic wild harvesting. The nuts are sourced from a 1600 member women’s cooperative. They are paid fair trade prices 25 – 50% above the rates women earn in their local markets.

How to Use Shea Butter
Just apply it all over your body, hands, lip, or hair as. It melts on your skin. A little goes a long way, just put little bit (a dime size) each time.
Save money on the expensive salon hot oil treatment!
You can also use it as hot oil treatment for your hair. Simply melt the Shea button on low heat, apply on your hair and cover your hair with hot towel and shower cap for 30 minutes to an hour. Then shampoo. Repeated use can keep your hair healthy and shiny.
Note: In case the Shea Butter becomes semi-liquid in warm temperature (it could happen during transit or if you live in a warm climate), simply refrigerate it and it will firm up. It does not affect the healing properties of the Shea Butter.
